K. L. Cando is a Western Australian writer from the northern suburbs of Boorloo/Perth. Her first short story UTOPIA ENDS TODAY. was written for the Best Australian Yarn 2024. Her attention to detail, love for story-telling and the English language sets apart her work from others.

When she isn't writing, she's probably thinking about writing, looking at photos of her dog, re-reading The Hunger Games or any Anthony Doerr book, doing a 1500-piece jigsaw puzzle, or watching her favourite films and television shows. She's adamant that Chicken Crimpies are not part of the Shapes family. The novels she always recommends are All the Light We Cannot See and Cloud Cuckoo Land, both by Anthony Doerr.
